Summer days

Our room at the GWL
Enjoying her first ear of corn.
At the Museum of Nature and Science.

Summer has come and gone and it was a good one. I had a lot of fun hanging out with the kids. We went to the zoo, fishing, swimming numerous times, rented movies and stayed up late, then slept in. We went to the Great.Wolf.Lodge, Bedi.as, the prison museum, the museu.m of natur.e and scie.nce, and the kids saw a few movies in the theater. I always enjoy my time with them and I missed Zayne a lot when he returned to school on Wednesday.
Digging for dinosaur bones.

This summer Shiloh has learned to crawl, climb the stairs, and say "dasta" aka shasta. She is drinking from a sippy cup, a straw, and a regular glass and has sampled numerous foods. We have had peas, peaches, bananas, green beans, a chicken nugget from chic.f.il.a, sweet potatoes with cinnamon, toast, cheeri.os, noodles, carrots, apple juice, and waffles(minus the syrup) to name a few. She is weighing in at 19lbs and is now 28 inches long and is sporting 5 adorable teeth.

Zeke has had a fun summer too. He had his very first "real" birthday party complete with a pirate cake and tons of gifts. He has also acquired a taste for video games on the Wi.i, PS.2, and leap.ster. He enjoyed his first sleepover with his cousin Wyatt and even spent his first night away from home when he went to Bedia.s with dad and Lesa. He learned a lot about swimming at his swimming lessons and has a tan and sun streaked hair to prove it. Zeke just had his 4 year old check up where he received 4 shots!! Not fun.... he has good lungs! He weighed in at 35 lbs, and is 40 inches tall.

Zayne jumped into the world of double digit age when he turned 10. He and I had a great time at he water park at the GWL where we rode as many water slides as we could while Eric kept the little ones back in the room. He was also my right hand man this summer and was more help to me than he will ever realize. He is always helping with Shiloh and Zeke and made all our summer grocery store visits that much better. Shi and Zeke love Zayne soooo much and they are going to miss him when he is at school. Look what I can do, Mom!

In a nutshell, that is our summer..... one of the best on record. Now I am officially shifting into fall football mode..... if only the weather would follow suit!
